Werkwijze

like to start my guidance by taking time to get to know each other and to map out where you are now, where you come from and where you want to go. I think it is important to investigate how the difficulties or problems you encounter relate to you and your environment, while not losing sight of your strengths. Then we will look at how we can get movement in patterns that repeat themselves or are stuck. I often work in a structured way, but I also have a preference for being creative. I think it is very important that you feel comfortable and understood, but therapy sometimes also involves a gentle confrontation or a little push. Alignment about this is crucial for the collaboration and I therefore regularly ask questions about this.

I am a systems therapist in training, which means that I like to work with systems (couples and families), but I also look at individual guidance contextually. The central idea for me is that difficulties arise or take place between people and/or a broader context and that ‘the solution’ can be found in interactions, dynamics, positioning oneself differently, …

I enjoy working with a broad target group, but during my time at the CGG I have developed an interest in the perinatal period and early parenthood. As an adult psychologist, my expertise lies more with the parent perspective, but I like to work with the system: family, parent-baby, parent couple, or parents alone.
